Research interest:

• Association of plasma biomarkers or genetic markers with cardiovascular risk factors, such as dyslipidaemia, diabetes, hypertension and the metabolic syndrome
• Epidemiology of different cardiovascular risks factors, such as prevalence, control and treatment
• Anti-inflammatory effects of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and associated apolipoproteins
• Drugs commonly used for cardiovascular risk reduction such as statins and fenofibrate
• Relationship of fibroblast growth factor 21 with atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease risk
