About the Museum

Introduction

The Museum of Human Disease is a centre of excellence in the presentation of public programs and exhibitions aimed at educating and promoting good health in the community. The museum highlights the workings of the human body and reflects the changing patterns of disease in our society.

The museum plays a key role in the education of medical students and it is necessary for the students to acquire an in-depth knowledge of all the specimens in the museum by the end of their course.

Each year the museum has around 10,000 visitors consisting of high school students, community groups, UNSW alumni and university students.
