Broad Research Areas
Molecular Structure & Drug Design
Pharmacology

Specific Research Keywords
Medicinal Chemistry
Adrenergic Receptors
Computer-aided drug design

Research Interests

In the field of medicinal chemistry, the design of new molecules as potential pharmaceutical agents is of particular interest. The interactions of such small molecules with their protein targets is also a focus. Collaborative work with synthetic chemists at the University of Wollongong is concerned with antiviral agents. Collaborative work with colleagues at the UNSW is concerned with molecules selectively modulating cell signalling through adrenergic receptors.

Teaching Interests
Basic medicinal chemistry and pharmacology, computer-aided drug design and development.

Society Memberships & Professional Activities
Member, Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI)
Chair-elect of the Biomolecular Chemistry Division of RACI
