Paediatric Sporting Injuries in NSW: A prospective surveillance of injuries
Dr Carolyn Broderick

This project, funded by the Sporting Injuries Committee, aims to describe the epidemiology of sports-related injuries in young people (aged 6-16) who present to selected sports medicine clinics, general practitioners and hospital emergency departments in the Sydney metropolitan area.

The outcomes of this project will lead to a better understanding of the current incidence, nature and severity of sporting injuries in the paediatric population. Additionally, this research will contribute to future injury prevention strategies and a nation-wide injury surveillance.
