Members of the public are invited to donate their body for the purpose of anatomical study and medical research through the Bequeathal Program of UNSW Australia. Body donation is a unique gift that makes a vital contribution to the training of health care professionals and benefits the entire community.
The University accepts bodies in accordance with the provisions of the Anatomy Act 1977 and the Human Tissue Act 1983 for medical teaching and research.
UNSW is extremely grateful for the kindness of donors and their families, whose generous gift greatly contributes to the advancement of medical education and research.
Some donors and their families have shared their stories below:
- Compass - Faith and Funerals (Episode 5) (ABC TV, 2014)
- Donating a body to science (Sydney Morning Herald, 2011)
If you are interested in donating your body and would like further information about eligibility for the program please contact Susan Dacre on (02) 9385 2480 during business hours or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
