Paper of the Month
This award was instigated by the Research Committee in July 2004 to promote and reward quality research within SOMS.
Criteria for selection:
- The first author must be a member of staff or a student in the School of Medical Sciences and must acknowledge their affiliation with SOMS
- The paper must meet the DEST criteria for a category C publication (published in a scholarly journal, peer reviewed original research, i.e. not a review) from work done in SOMS
- Where applicable the submission should include a short statement of merit:
- The impact factor of the journal
- The standing of the journal in its field
- The first paper of a Postgraduate or Honours student
- A publication in a new field or with new collaboration, etc.
- Editorial comment
- Article featured on the journal cover
Papers must be submitted to
Marie Kwok by the 3rd of the month following publication.
